Fonecta and Zed have completed a transaction whereby all SMS services
operated by Zed under the service number 16400 are transferred to Fonecta.
These include vehicle registration data and public transport timetables. The sale
requires no action by the subscribers.

Zed's number 16400 has long been the main mobile distribution channel for our
Finder service. Last year alone, 1.5 million Finns used the Finder service, making
more than 17 million searches. It is one of the most popular value-added services
for mobile phone subscribers in Finland. "Thanks to the sale, we have better
opportunities to develop and expand our services, for example, in mobile
marketing and improve our customers' access to information through our
services," says Heikki Jämsänen, CEO of Fonecta.
The services transferred from Zed to Fonecta include vehicle registration data.
The purpose of the service is to promote traffic safety and improve access to
information in situations where it is necessary for a private individual or
entrepreneur to verify the ownership or possessor of a vehicle. Fonecta has
offered vehicle registration data on its domestic operator-assisted service 02 02
02 for over two years.
Other 16400 services transferred to Fonecta include news services, the results
services provided by Veikkaus (national lottery) and local weather forecasts.
