European Directories Appoints Simon Greenman to the Position of Managing Director - Online. Local Search Veteran to Lead company's Online and Mobile Search Growth
 
European Directories has appointed Simon Greenman as Managing Director – Online. He will based at Group Headquarters and report directly to the company's CEO, Cornel Riklin.
An industry veteran with nearly fifteen years experience years in the local search and yellow pages industry, he will be responsible for driving technical development and revenue growth in the online and mobile directory and search growth across all Group companies.
 
In announcing Simon’s appointment, European Directories CEO Cornel Riklin said: “We are delighted to have Simon join the senior team at European Directories. Simon brings excellent and highly relevant experience and credentials to our business, and is ideally suited to the task of leading and driving the growth of our already well-established online directory and search business”.
 
Simon was a co-founder of the MapQuest.com service, one of the most widely used and licensed local search services. He was most recently Head of Digital for R.H. Donnelley, which he joined through the acquisition of Dex Media. He was responsible for leading the group’s overall digital initiatives, including driving strong revenue growth through the introduction of new IYP and SEM advertising products, growing DexOnline.com to the number one in-region consumer local search site, and establishing well recognized partnerships with Google and Yahoo!.
 
“I am extremely pleased to accept the role of Managing Director – Online at European Directories,” Greenman said. “There is a strong team that is very will positioned to further capitalize on strong European online and mobile growth. I am also excited to bring my experience in the US Internet and local search markets back to my European roots.” Simon will relocate from the United States to Europe to assume his new role.
 
Simon holds a Harvard MBA and a BA in Computing and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sussex, England. He brings a unique combination of a search and online technologies experience with strong experience in the yellow pages and local search markets to the Group.
